Contest of Speed Esport event - Rules and Regulations

General information

1-1 Joining eCOS events

1-1.1 Teams looking to join the league must sign up in the dedicated channels before being placed into the league.
1-1.2 New teams (joining mid-season) will be placed in the league as soon as a racing team withdraws from the league.

1-2 Leaving eCOS events before end of season

1-2.1 Leaving the league mid-season without an adequate explanation will result in a team ban that will last until the end of the next season.
1-2.2 Teams/Drivers will remain in the standings table if they decide to leave the league so long as they inform admins of their decision, drivers who leave the league without explanation will be placed on the banned list and points will be excluded from the drivers championship.

1-3 Classification/Points System

1-3.1 All drivers who completed 90% of the total race distance themselves will be classified.
1-3.2 A driver who disconnected after covering 90% of the race distance will be classified where their AI finished.
1-3.3 Point system is as follows:

1st – 25 pts;
2nd – 18 pts;
3rd – 15 pts;
4th – 12 pts;
5th – 10 pts;
6th – 8 pts;
7th – 6 pts;
8th – 4 pts;
9th – 2 pts;
10 – 1 pts.

1-3.4 The driver who sets the fastest lap will be awarded an extra point if classified inside the top ten.

1-4 Teams

1-4.1 A team will consist of maximum 2 drivers.
1-4.1.2 The driver lineup per race has to be made known to the eCOS staff latest 1 hour before the race starts.
1-4.2 If a driver pulls out of the championship a new driver will take their seat. They will start the season on 0 points in the drivers championship, however the constructor points from the previous driver will carry over.
1-4.3 We will be using the 2022 Formula One Team cars for Season 11.

1-5 Champions

1-5.1 The driver/team that accumulates the most points over the season is declared Champion.

1-6 Dead Heat

If two or more constructors/drivers finish the Championship with the same number of points, the higher place in the Championship (in either case) shall be awarded to:
1-6.1 The holder of the greatest number of first places.
1-6.2 If the number of first places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of second places.
1-6.3 If the number of second places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of third places in a race and so on until a winner emerges.
1-6.4 If this procedure fails to produce a result then the championship will be decided by the most amount of fastest laps, if this amount is equal it will be decided by who set the fastest lap earliest in the season.

1-7 Gamertag Change

1-7.1 Drivers are allowed to change their Gamertag.
1-7.2 Drivers MUST make the eCOS Staff aware of their gamertag. The team manager can inform the staff via “Team-manager-chat in our Discord.

1-8 Recording

1-8.1 Drivers are required to record their qualifying and race in case incidents were to happen.
1-8.2 Drivers should NOT delete their footage until the stewards reviews have been posted.
1-8.3 eCOS stream footage can only be used as additional evidence.

1-9 Streaming

1-9.1 Streaming is permitted to anyone who is racing.
1-9.2 Drivers should only stream if their internet allows them to. If an incident was to be caused by a driver’s lag, this driver will be deemed responsible and may result in post race penalty.
1-9.3 All commentated races will be streamed live on twitch, videos will then be exported to the COS youtube channel https://youtube.com/contestofspeed.

1-10 Missing Races

1-10.1 If you get marked for an uninformed absence you will be given a reprimand. As per the reprimand system, accumulating 3 attendance reprimands could see your removed from the league. 
1-10.2 Getting another driver to race under your name is also prohibited and will result in league removal.
1-10.3 Admins reserve the right to remove teams in the league should attendance be poor.
